When in Internet Explorer (IE) 4.01 on a web page containing frames, it is now possible to bring up a list of the frames on that page using Insert+F9. When Enter is pressed on one of the items in the list, focus moves to that frame and the contents of the entire frame are read. In addition, when using the Windows Keystrokes, Control+Tab or Control+Shift+Tab to move from frame to frame, the entire contents of the new frame with focus is read. When reformatting a page in Internet Explorer (IE) 4.01, graphical links that don't have alt text (HTML) associated with them are now included in the reformatted version. The address to which the link points is what is displayed. When a new Web page is loaded, the PC cursor is now properly positioned at the top of the document. Web pages with over 1000 HTML elements now work properly. Previously, prompts were not spoken for any field after element 999. Under NT4 Service Pack 4, we now properly announce the contents of combo boxes when tabbing to them. The ListOfLinks, ListOfToolBarButtons and JAWSVerbosity dialogs now properly announce under Windows NT when the box is first opened. When using terminal emulators, a JAWS script can now properly send the PageUp and PageDown keys. JAWS now tracks the caret more accurately when using Extra and other Terminal emulators. BraillePanLeft and BraillePanRight now work properly when the configuration option BrailleMoveActiveCursor is set to 1. This section contains information about the differences between JAWS Version 3.20.09 and 3.20.19. When reformatting a page in IE 4.01, graphical links that do not have alt text associated with them are now read. JAWS 3.20.19 displays the actual address to which the link points. Improved feedback when tabbing through fields in a form in IE 4.01. In IE 4.01, the contents of radio buttons and check boxes are properly spoken. In IE 4.01, JAWS 3.20.31 speaks the prompts for multi-line edits. When using terminal emulators, the JAWS script can now send PageUp and PageDown keys. When using the Eloquence Software Synthesizer along with a Braille display, you will notice a marked improvement in performance. A Windows NT memory leak no longer occurs when using JAWS along with Braille displays. The various JAWS dialog boxes such as Select a Link in IE, Graphics Labeler, and JAWS Find, come to the foreground under Windows 98 without pressing ALT+TAB to access them. JAWS 3.20.31 tracks movement on the various toolbars that can be added to the Windows 98 desktop. Although SayWord identifies the toolbar button that is highlighted, these items do not yet speak when arrowing between them. For QuickBooks Users (and users of similar packages), when running a 16-bit application with controls which have been reclassed to either Radio Buttons or Check boxes, JAWS 3.20.31 identifies the checked/unchecked status of these controls. When using Excel, JAWS 3.20.31 more accurately speaks the contents of the current cell as you move with the arrow keys. When using Excel, and moving to a cell beyond coordinates with a column of "Z" (such as "AA" or "AB"), JAWS 3.20.31 correctly identifies the displayed values of AA, AB, AC instead of the numeric value provided by the Microsoft Excel Object Model. Active graphics in IE v4 are turned off to improve responsiveness in Windows 98. Changes to JAWS Authorization Checking This section contains information about authorization checking changes.
